barry_01 Johan, as you know I purchased Easyrig Turtle X from you and your daughter last year at NAB, I am a Medical Photographer  at the Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital in Sherman Oaks California.  I use the Easyrig with a Sony V1U when videotaping Burn Surgery, we usually have one camera on a Boom and the other on the Easyrig, having tried to hand hold a small camera for one, two hours and getting shaky shots is not except able. Using the Turtle X gives us shake free shots and freedom to move around the operating room to get the shot we need.  Also when shooting for CNN or Discovery getting a low angle of the surgeon is very easy to accomplish, and doing a move from the operating room light to the surgeon is also very steady.  We also like the pocket in the back that the arm goes in to put our wireless microphone receiver in when we are shooting.

barry_01 Creativity demands that I often work hand-held, I am always moving around and looking for that perfect shot. Before the Turtle X my
hand-held shots always ended with shaky hands and shaky pictures.
Now with Turtle X on the scene I have no excuses.”
“It takes me less than a minute to get my Turtle X ready for use, once
I’ve put it on I get shake free, steady shots for hours and can continue
to stand and move around. In my opinion it’s the best invention since
the tripod!”

We recently purchased an Turtle X off you for a Natural History/Travel shoot
in Australia's Northern Territory. Frankly, it was the best bit of kit I took with me and I could not have performed my job anywhere near as good as I did without the Turtle X. We spent 13 hours a day shooting from a boat; I wore the Turtle X at all times, not only did it take the weight off my arm (the Z1 was loaded up with toys and very front heavy) but it also helped to smooth the movement of the boat on the water too. The were many times that the Turtle X enabled me to get shots I wouldn't have managed without it:
*** Low angle above the water as the boat travelled, "craning" up to action on the boat;
*** Production booked a helicopter one day for aerial footage of the floodplanes.

We were 200Km from cilivisation so proper filming choppers were out of the question. The Turtle X became my chopper mount enabling me to shoot safely and reletively steady from the seat. The next block of the job takes us to Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe - I've been asked to cut back on excess baggage but one thing is for sure - the Turtle X is coming with me!

VERY functional back saving tool. Easy to work with. Beautiful looking and solid materials all very important. But the HDV H1 dosen't fit in one piece into the bag - so not "ready to shoot" tool. That is a missed chance. I'll keep the Turtle X for the rig in the bag, I'll put the equipment - ( microphones, lamps ...) only for long walks I will have to depart - the camera and use the bag of the Turtle X.

You are a complete genius! The Törtlerig is the most amazing camera support for documentary shooting. I've tried so many different support systems previously and had never fallen in love. Your invention has been my perfect partner in the High Arctic, giving me freedom and support no matter what the conditions.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

Anders Falk is a Swede in Hollywood who among other things freelances as a cameraman. Already ten years ago he benefited from an Easyrig while documenting the making of James Cameron's Titanic, where many hours were spent wading in the water, and there was no opportunity to put down the heavy BetaCam on a dry spot. In recent years small handheld digital video cameras of high quality and low cost have become more common on professional shoots, so Falk was pleased to welcome the introduction of the Turtle-X, intended for these often ergonomically uncomfortable cameras.

Most shoots take place in the Hollywood area, but Falk has also flown to Memphis, Chicago and New Orleans with the compact Turtle-X backpack, which travels well. He brought it along on a documentary shoot in Kosovo, and also used it during a physically grueling shoot about American military training in the desert, where the practical backpack carried tapes, batteries, trail mix and the vitally important hydration bag.

Falk exclusively used the Turtle-X with a Sony Z1-U HDV camera for two seasons of behind-the-scenes shooting on commercials with celebrities endorsing the world famous St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (see Thanks and Giving Campaign www.tg.stjude.org). Participants include Jennifer Aniston, Jimmy Smits, Ray Romano, Bernie Mac and the ever entertaining Robin Williams, whose improvisational routine requires two hours of continuous recording (except for tape changes) without a tripod, which makes the Turtle-X indispensable for long, steady takes. When actor Antonio Banderas, who is personally interested in camera gear, showed up for his shoot he immediately spotted the Turtle-X on Falk's back. The producers noticed how excited Banderas was about Turtle-X and they bought him a rig from BandPro in Burbank, which was handed over two hours later as a thank you for his participation!

I shoot a major conference with Members of Parliament and an Iranian organization. I stood straight up and filmed from both sides of the conference table in two hours with minimal shaking. I certainly was tired in my arm but I have not had TurtleX I could never done it -especially with a SONY PMW-Ex3 weighing ca. 4 kg. Normally I can barely stand 20 minutes before I start to shake so much that I have to abort filming.

The only wish of improvement I have is that the backpack would have to be a little larger so it could accommodate the SONY PMW-Ex3 camera. As it is now I have to squeeze the zipper so it may eventually burst. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with TurtleX as you notice!
