The
Easyrig2
The Easyrig2 is a portable camera
support system which can be used with both film and
video cameras. The Easyrig reduces the static load on
the neck and shoulder muscles and distributes it to
other parts of the body which are more capable of
handling it.
The Easyrig2 gives you the speed
and mobility of a hand-held camera, while still
achieving steady shots from the shoulder and hip. The
powerful suspension lines will easily accept the new
lightweight digital cameras and the heavier professional
Betacam, as well as 35mm film cameras.
The device consists mainly of an
aluminum support arm, hip belt and vest. A suspension
line attached to the camera holds it lightly on your
shoulder while the bulk of the camera's weight is
transferred down to the hips.
The suspension line is attached to the
camera handle via a snap-lock hook, held in place by a
spring. Through the hollow support arm the suspension
line runs over three supporting ball-bearing wheels.
Inside the lower part of the suspension bar there is a
gas spring and another wheel assembly, working on the
good old fashioned "block and tackle" concept. The line
is determined by the weight of the camera in use, so if
you work with more than one type of camera with
different weights, you can use a separate support bar,
but still use the same hip belt and vest.
The Easyrig2 allows you the freedom of shooting
from various positions by simply lifting the camera from
your shoulder, as you would with an ordinary hand-held
camera.
The Easyrig2 is equipped with specially
adapted shock absorbers for different camera weights.
When choosing your Easyrig you have to specify your
camera's weight (Only one shock absorber kit is
delivered with each Easyrig2)
Presently there are two different
models of the the Easyrig2, one "standard" and one
intended for use for 35mm cameras weighing over 15kg.
This model has two shoulder straps and it has a more
powerful shock absorber.
