New TortleRig Camera Support for DV Cameras

16x9 Inc. introduces TortleRig, the new lightweight portable camera support system for DV camcorders. Like its big brother, EasyRig, the ergonomically designed TortleRig reduces static load to the arm and shoulder muscles by redistributing camera weight to the hips where it is easily supported. It also provides today’s lightweight DV (up to 8.8 lbs) camcorders with added stability. 

Designed by a Swedish cinematographer, TortleRig utilizes an overhead support arm, back support bar, hip belt, and integral padded backpack capable of carrying all necessary camera gear. 

Combining the speed and mobility of handheld shooting with the increased steadiness provided by a support system, TortleRig was designed specifically for DV cameras, which by virtue of their light weight are susceptible to shakiness when used handheld. 

TortleRig also makes it easy for shooters to conduct interviews without assistance, thanks to nearly hands-free operation of the camera.
